The Finnish Political Science Association has published a book series in English since 1983. In 2018, the Association decided to renew it under the title Pro et Contra. Books from the Finnish Political Science Association.
Pro et Contra is a peer-reviewed, open access book series published in collaboration with Helsinki University Press.
With this renewed book series, the Association seeks to highlight the diversity of Finnish political studies by offering the opportunity to publish first-class monographs in English. The open access format enables the publication of research faster and with better public outreach than conventional publication processes.
Pro et Contra book series has the right to use peer-review label in its publications. The label is granted by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV), and it indicates that the peer review of books has been performed in line with the quality and ethical criteria imposed by the international academic community.
